Teluk Bahang - Penang Hill hike - 5+1 hours journey


Date : 11th July 2009
Day : Saturday
Time : Before 6.45am - no late comers
Have your breakfast first, not too heavy.
Place : Meet at Asia Cafe ( Ayer Itam roundabout )
Fitness : Must be fit for this hike and stay in a small group

** Participation at your own risks.
***Bus kilang will transfer us from Ayer Itam to Teluk Bahang Recreation Forest Park from 6.45am, and arrived around 7.30am.
Cost of 44 seater bus kilang = RM90 to be shared among all hikers.
Go to the gents/ladies first before start of the hike


Important preparation :
1. Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip
2. Drinking water of 2-3 litres (prefer some 100Plus drink)
3. Hiking Pole, if necessary
4. Wear breathable long pants/long sleeve t-shirt and bring towel
5. Gloves (cotton)
6. Raincoat/Umbrella/Hat
7. Food (minus biscuits)/Energy bars (to avoid low sugar level)
8. A set of change e.g. socks/clothes
9. Camera – to capture the moments
10. Packed in a comfortable knapsack

Teluk Bahang - Penang Hill Longest Forest Trail Challenge

Tentative date : 11th July 2009
Day : Saturday ( Penang Governor's Birthday )

Time : 6.45am - At Asia Cafe (Ayer Itam Roundabout)
Distance : 11.3km (6.6km jungle track & 4.7km tar road)
Duration : 5 + 1 hours
Difficulty : Moderate to Tough
Return : By train or walk down - you decide
Fitnesss : min 2 hours hike ability - (training required)

Idea : Meet at Ayer Itam Asia Cafe ( Roundabout coffeeshop )
Charter a bas sekolah ( RM100/trip ) pick up & transfer to Teluk Bahang
